Information for Volunteers
Do you live in or near Washington, DC, and want to help make Health Care '09 a success? Learn about volunteer opportunities below.
Why do we need volunteers?
Delegations of community leaders from over 40 states are being flown into Washington in order to meet with key Members of Congress. The people comprising these groups include small business owners, rural representatives, faith leaders, health care providers, and others. Other attendees from nearby have been recruited from our 1000+ Member organizations including labor unions, grassroots community organizations, on-line groups, and faith communities.
None of these people are familiar with Washington, DC. They need your help to make sure they can effectively lobby their Members of Congress.
What do we need volunteers to do?
We'll need people to greet buses as they come in to town and marshal people around from place to place. We'll need organizers to handle logistics and materials for the lobby day. We'll need people with cars to help set up our townhall meetings. And we'll need debriefers to receive materials after the lobby day. Click here for more in-depth volunteer job descriptions.
Volunteer shifts run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Can you help?
